For those of you who attended our Spring Fling in April, John McCall will be performing in Gastonia at the First Presbyterian Church, 1621 E. Garrison Blvd.  This event is sponsored by the Charlotte Chapter of AGO.  Friday evening’s event is a Progressive Dinner starting in Charlotte.  Please click here to view the itinerary for the evening.  John will be performing on a Schlicker Pipe Organ (1968) of seven ranks which was recently augmented with 48 digital ranks and a new drawknob console by the Allen Organ Company.  John’s musical contribution will be enhanced with percussion effects by a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. John will be presenting a mini-concert and a silent film presentation of Buster Keaton’s hilarious  ‘The Playhouse’.  Keaton plays almost every role in the movie.  Please make your reservation prior to September 15th.

October 9th  2010

Our October meeting will be at the home of Gil Parsons’ at 2pm.  The artist for the afternoon’s concert will be Martin Boehling from South Carolina.   Martin has entertained us several times on  Brent Wood’s Artisan and a short program on the Walker.  Martin will be presenting a tribute to some of his teachers, Dick Leibert,  Reginald Foort,  George Wright, and Billy Nalle.   Refreshments will be available at intermission.
